Information You Enter
A name, phone number, or address typed into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the result. Barstow Residents Directory does not keep a copy of that search. A message sent to us contains only the details the sender chooses to include, which are used to respond.
Routine Technical Logs
Hosting systems may record an IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. Aggregate review helps keep the pages working and shows which resources receive traffic. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may use cookies or similar tools where those services are enabled.
How the Information Is Used
The limited information supports site operation, fault diagnosis, traffic counts, and page improvement. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual user profiles from these records.
Outside Portals and Providers
Links lead to county and state records offices, libraries, archives, and sponsored search tools. Once a visitor leaves this reference, the destination’s privacy policy controls what is submitted there. The third-party search provider also sets its own retention and data practices.
Who Receives Limited Data
Hosting and support vendors may process technical logs. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Disclosure occurs when valid legal process requires it, and otherwise is limited to operating the reference.
Security and Retention
The pages use an encrypted connection. Logs are retained only for the operational purposes described above. Because there are no accounts, this reference does not hold a password or user profile that could be exposed.
Visitors Under 18
These resources are intended for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information, use the Contact page so it can be reviewed and deleted.
California Privacy Choices
California’s Consumer Privacy Act, Cal. Civ. Code §§1798.100-1798.199, gives applicable people rights concerning personal information held by a business, including access, correction, deletion, and limits on sale or sharing. Because this reference retains little, a request usually means checking the contact mailbox and relevant technical logs. Use the Contact page to ask.
California’s Delete Act platform, DROP, began consumer requests in January 2026 and required broker processing on August 1, 2026. DROP can address participating data brokers, not county deeds, assessor files, court records, license filings, or voter-custodian records. Requests for existing executive-agency records follow the California Public Records Act, Government Code §§7920.000-7931.000; a public-record correction or redaction request belongs with the office that holds that record.
